Dietary guidance directed towards GAPS (Gut and Psychology Syndrome)
The GAPS concept aims to explain the existing relationship between intestinal diseases and psychological disorders.
Finding and especially maintaining the ideal diet, for an indefinite period of time is a utopia.
I would go further, questioning, after all, what is the ideal diet and for how long should we stick to it?
Food is undoubtedly an extremely important aspect, as it influences many areas of our lives, resulting in health or disease.
An imbalance of intestinal flora, for example, can trigger diseases such as eczema, allergies, psoriasis, type 1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis (MS), anemia, urinary infections, chronic fatigue, learning problems, autism, dyslexia, attention deficit, hyperactivity, dyspraxia, depression, schizophrenia, among many others...
Ingestion, Absorption, Metabolization and Excretion and in this dynamic, we are what we eat, what we absorb, what we metabolize and what we excrete.
The GAPS (Gut and Psychology Syndrome) diet, aims to provide 4 extremely important situations:
- Removal of excess toxins
- Nutrient deficit replenishment
- Repair of the intestinal wall, damaged by inflammation
- Replenishment of the intestinal flora with healthy microorganisms
The GAPS diet is adapted to each person according to their health condition/age and is carried out in three different stages:
"When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use; when diet is correct, medicine is of no need."
